The Nordic countries do not only offer ice, snow, and winter sports, in the summer season when the ice has receded, beautiful lakes with quaint cabins are ideal for fishing and swimming. There is plenty of hiking and biking trails to uncover in vast forest land, as well as:

Husky Safaris: Meet the friendly huskies and learn how to mush your own sleigh, taking it in turns to drive in pairs. You can try husky mushing it's a whole lot of fun and can take a little time to master.
Snowmobile Excursion: Snowmobiling is a great way to cover a lot of ground relatively quickly, from hills to forests, vast wilderness landscapes to frozen lakes. Snowmobiles can cover all types of terrain but be prepared to fall off if you go off the tracks.
Reindeer Sledding: There’s something especially charming about the idea of riding in a sleigh pulled by reindeer. Reindeer play an important role in Sami culture and the whole family could enjoy a Santa experience as part of a Northern Lights trip!
Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing: These fun activities will certainly keep you warm in the cold weather and it's the perfect way to explore your local area.
Whale-Watching & Other Wildlife: If you’re lucky you might see whales in Reykjavik or Gyr Falcons soaring high in the sky. We can advise the best times to go and where to stay.

Styles of Accommodation

We have a range of epic accommodation styles to choose from, whether you want to sleep in a luxury tented camp, log cabin, glass igloo, an ice hotel, or traditional hotel, trust holiday warriors to deliver your dreams.

Luxury Glass Igloo: Stay overnight for a unique and memorable experience in a thermal glass igloo. Watch the ever-changing nature of the polar night and midnight sun and the infamous northern lights from the comfort of your cosy room.

Aurora Bubble: Each individual, wooden pod has heating, a private eco WC, and a comfortable double bed from where you can view the star-lit sky. Located on the water’s edge, the north-facing pods have specially formulated curved glass ceilings, which allow you to watch nature unfold. We can incorporate a night in an aurora bubble into your stay.

Ice Hotel: With a mix of permanent buildings and seasonal ice structures, this ice-themed hotel is located in Northern Sweden, above the Arctic Circle, in a small town called Jukkasjärvi. You can experience a chilling stay in rooms made of ice blocks, with platform beds, thermal sleeping bags and reindeer hides. Your stay will be combined with traditional year-round warm rooms in the log cabins which offer authentic decor, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Permanent ice suites, known as ICEHOTEL 365, have artistic carvings, and private, heated bathrooms and saunas.

Arctic Tree House: If you want a different experience, why not stay in the Arctic Treehouse Hotel? They are set on the hillside with impressive views of the landscape and northern skies. We can arrange and incorporate a stay with a difference that will add to your overall experience! The 49 individual suites are bespoke designs and elevated in rows above the hotel's reception and restaurant. Some suites feature private saunas and floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the amazing scenery right into the room.

An ‘all in one’ Arctic suit (or salopettes and jacket) is provided for the duration of your stay on many tours and hotel stays, as are waterproof boots. By itself, this garment is not warm enough, but coupled with your own layered clothing this provides a top layer of insulation and waterproofing to ensure that you keep warm during your stay.

Having personally (Andrea) stayed at the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden, and travelled around Finland and Norway, I can recommend where to stay and even what to pack. The Northern lights did make an appearance and made all my icy trips an experience of a lifetime!
