Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Vancouver
After landing, transfer to your downtown Vancouver hotel. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Pacific Coast city. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 2 Vancouver - Whitehorse
Head to Vancouver Airport for your internal flight to Whitehorse. Upon arrival at Whitehorse, you will be welcomed by a local representative of the Northern Tales Travel services and transferred to your hotel.
Once checked in, you will receive an orientation meeting describing what to expect during your stay. The rest of the day is yours until your first evening before viewing the Aurora Borealis. Overnight in Whitehorse.
Day 3 - 5 Whitehorse
Enjoy a tour of the scenic city of Whitehorse, a former gold rush settlement set against a stunning backdrop of mountains. Discover the highlights of this town such as Main Street, the Train Depot of White Pass, Log Skyscraper, Log Church, the Sternwheeler SS Klondike, fish ladders and Schwatka Lake.
Each day you are free to relax in the warm comfort of the hotel and will have an opportunity to view the Northern Lights every evening of your stay!
While waiting for the lights to appear, guests are invited to sit by a roaring bonfire, roast marshmallows, drink tea/hot chocolate whilst chatting to local guides. Or try snowshoeing, tobogganing on a small hill.
Included in the package is a visit to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, where you have the opportunity to view wildlife in their natural habitat. Dall sheep, Bighorn sheep, mountain goats, mule deer, wapiti (elk), woodland caribou, wood bison, musk-ox, moose and even lynx can all be seen on this tour!
To cap off a great day, you will also travel to the nearby Takhini Hot Springs (admission included) to take advantage of the outdoor springs pool which provides a warm sanctuary amid the cold weather - it's a must-do while visiting Whitehorse! Overnight in Whitehorse.
Day 6 Whitehorse - Vancouver
Your Yukon experience comes to an end. Find those last Yukon souvenirs before your flight back to Vancouver. Enjoy your afternoon at Grouse Mountain where you can take the scenic Skyride to the top and take in the great views of the mountains and forests surrounding Vancouver, learn about the local wildlife, experience shows and demonstrations and much more! Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 7 Vancouver
Enjoy Vancouver before heading to the airport for your flight home.
