We've put together the latest and most popular questions we've been asked recently, which gives an insight into the ethos of the Holiday Warrior Team!
Q 1 - How does your business work?
We are self-employed and we do not get a salary. When you book any holiday, whether it's direct with a company, or with an agent like us, there will always be a commission made on a booking. The Tour Operator/Suppliers offer us excellent rates, sometimes only available through travel agents. Many suppliers choose to work only with travel agents in the knowledge that we are dealing with their clients and they do not need to man busy customer service call centres.
Q 2 - What's the benefit of booking with you?
For our clients, there are NO call centres, NO premium-rate numbers and we do not charge you for our advice and service. You have a friendly warrior by your side virtually 24/7, to reassure you and ensure your holiday runs smoothly from start to finish.
Q 3 - Why don't you have a shop?
I would honestly love to have a shop and have more face-to-face conversations, but the world is very much online. By booking over the phone or a Zoom call, we are able to give you much better deals and can sometimes include those added extras like an airport lounge before you fly for those very special holidays. Of course, we would love to meet up and support local events and we do hope to be out and about in the near future!
Q 4 - Should we be booking a holiday right now?
We believe "YES", but perhaps planning further ahead to 2022/2023 to take advantage of flexible low deposit holidays that allow you to cancel your holiday up to 6 weeks prior and if it's because of Covid you get 100% money back. In fact, this is the best time to book a bucket list holiday as prices have never been cheaper!
Q 5 - What type of holidays do you sell?
We sell package holidays to suit any budget. All holidays are important to us, whatever the budget, from traditional beach holidays to tours of Asia, cruises, and great rail journeys. Working with Hays Travel Independence Group we have access to exceptional rates and a multitude of suppliers at our fingertips.
Q 6 - Are your prices the same as booking direct?
We are proud to work with many esteemed Tour Operators that offer fantastic service and value for money. We can offer the same prices and add extra value to your holiday. We can package your holiday ourselves under our Hays ATOL or we can work with numerous companies to match you to your perfect getaway. JET 2, easyJet Holidays, Kuoni, Emirates Holidays, Classic Collection, James Villas, Silversea, Royal Caribbean... etc, the list goes on and on...
Q 7 - Is our money safe?
It is very important to us that we comply with ABTA package guidelines and we have an ATOL agreement in place to cover every package holiday. In the unlikely event that your Tour Operator or indeed Holiday Warriors ceases trading, you would be fully protected.
Q 8 - What is the difference between a tailor-made itinerary & a package holiday?
By listening to what you want to do on a holiday, we can combine various destinations and experiences to build a holiday around you. This does not necessarily mean expensive, but it does ensure that you spend your money on the holiday you really really want!
Q 9 - Why do you ask me for an indication of the budget?
This question is frequently asked in our initial consultation and met with hesitation and suspicion, especially by new clients. But, we simply need to factor in, if you are looking for a Ferrari or a Ford Focus. We don't want to assume you want the cheapest deal on the market and we also understand that luxury comes at a price, but we can work towards achieving the best prices and include some fantastic suggestions if we know the limits of your holiday pot.
Q 10 - Can anyone become a travel agent?
In theory, "Yes", because the numerous franchises offer packages to start your own holiday businesses. Do I agree? "NO", travel was deemed a vocation years ago, with in-depth training for recognized qualifications and apprenticeships were necessary to work in any high street agents. All our Holiday Warriors are travel trained and are experienced in all aspects of booking and ticketing. Knowledge is key and booking with a traditional agent is the safest bet!
