Tanzania Safari
Tanzania located in the East of Africa is best known as a safari destination. The most visited holiday areas being Serengeti and Ngorongoro, with treks to Mount Kilimanjaro and the beaches of Zanzibar incredibly popular for a beach and bush combination.
Tanzania is certainly one of the greatest wildlife shows on earth.
The incredible Serengeti plains and the splendour of the Ngorongoro Crater would be tremendous even without the presence of the amazing wildlife. It is a perfect place to see everything – lions, leopards, hippopotamus, buffalo, elephant, warthogs, and migrating wildebeest. The black rhinoceros can only be found in Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive early during sunrise hours to catch the elusive black rhinoceros amongst the yellow acacia tree forest.
Spotlight on the Serengeti National Park
During the annual migration, more than a million wildebeest embark on a dangerous journey across the plains to the Masai Mara. Stalked by lions, leopards, and cheetahs looking for every opportunity to feast!
The cycle starts in the Southern Serengeti when the claves are born and the most popular time January-March to visit this region. From April-May, the migration begins as the herds move into the Western Serengeti where crocodiles strike as the herds cross the Grumeti River. By June-July the migration has moved north and crossed the Mara River and disperses into Masai Mara in Kenya August to October. Of course, nature is unpredictable and times and crossing routes can vary widely.
