Escape to Japan
Japan is extremely varied and diverse; the towering undulating mountains of Japan Alps couldn't be more different from the densely populated shores of the flat eastern seaboard, home to over 120 million of the population. The volcanic lunar moonscapes of Kyushu Islands is in complete contrast to Hokkaido's verdant green rolling hills and open fields.
With climatic extremes where temperatures soar in the summer to over 40° in the Southern isles and plunge to -30° in winter in Hokkaido, making Japan a country unique with vast regions to uncover, experiences to be made, adventures to conquer, and Japanese flavours to taste and savour!

The incredible land of the rising sun!
When you think of Japan you will probably think of Tokyo; tourists flock to this futuristic cityscape with a vertical skyline to embrace the vibrancy of neon lights and ultra-modern technology. Hit by earthquakes, volcanos, and fires the city has been rebuilt many times, still retaining its historical past through spiritualism and shrines.
Tokyo is the epitome of fast-paced city life and where the latest high-tech trends lie within reach of the old historic streets of Asakusa and to the trendy fashion centres of Shibuya and Harajuku, the country’s capital certainly is one of the most incredible and fascinating cities in the world to visit.
If you love to eat with the locals at traditional restaurants, the local guides can tell you the best-hidden gems within the backstreets of Tokyo. An opportunity not to be missed will be the art of making delicious sushi and sashimi, take a cookery class to learn how to combine the wasabi and ginger to balance your meal.

"Having holidayed in Tokyo, and visited Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Osaka I just loved the mystical charms of Japan the history, spiritualism, the strength of vision, and the amazing people you meet on your journey!"(Andrea)
Make the pilgrimage from Tokyo to Kyoto by the infamous Shinkansen bullet train reaching incredible speeds, a stop at Hakone National Park will give spectacular views of Mount Fuji on a clear day. Hakone-Yumoto town is a quaint place to shop and eat, and a visit to the Hakone Openair Museum is worth the time.
Kyoto contains the spiritual heart of Japan with an abundance of shrines and temples. The Fushimi Inari Shrine is the most photographed and the most recognised image reflecting a shrine in Japan. Thousands of bright red/orange vermilion torii gates wind over the trails to the sacred Mount Inari. Here you will find traditional houses and colourful geishas set amongst the serenity of gardens and picturesque shrines and temples. Kyoto is blessed with spectacular displays of the sakura (cherry blossom) the best time to visit March-April, but also the busiest and most popular time.
Hiroshima although now a vibrant and modern city is well known in world history for its tragic past. The Peace Memorial Museum is a significant reminder of the utter devastation caused by the atomic bomb that was dropped in 1945. There are poignant reminders and the iconic shrine Itsukushima can be found on the island of Miyajima, well worth a visit to take time to reflect.

The spectacular neon city lights are often the first thing that comes to mind when hearing the word “Japan”. However, there is so much more to discover and you will soon become enveloped in the charms of far eastern culture. Experience the nightlife of Shinjuku, venture to the top of Tokyo Tower in Minato, or even travel towards the coast for a ride at Tokyo’s Disneyland! There are endless skylines to discover and appreciate, from the Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower, you may even see glimpses of majestic Mt Fuji on a clear day. Take the underground and experience travel with the locals on the fast efficient services and shop till you drop in Harajuku, or visit the exquisite temples and shrines set all over Tokyo. My favourite was definitely the Imperial Palace; the residence of Japan’s Imperial Family. Finally, Japanese cuisine is outstanding from the tasty Sushi and the fragrant Katsu Curry dish to restaurants specialising in international cuisine and the street vendors cooking up a delicious smelling noodle storm at the side of the streets!
